Pottery wheel classes are a lot of fun but can also be messy. Dress comfortably but keep in mind you will probably get dirty, so wear something you do not mind getting a little mud on. Don’t worry, it will all wash out in the washing machine. We recommend tying back long hair and trimming your nails. Throwing and hand-building can be challenging with long nails.

What to wear when taking a wheel lesson?

Pottery is a rewarding craft; however, there are so many variables, we cannot guarantee that your pottery will make it back to you the way that you left it.  We do our best to take care of your pieces after you leave; nonetheless, pottery is extremely fragile, it breaks, it explodes, it cracks, and the glaze can drip. By booking a lesson or becoming a member at Mud Hut Pottery and Art Studio, you acknowledge you accept this as part of the learning process and understand we will not refund, credit, or replace any pottery that does not make it through the process.  You are signing up for an experience, an ability to learn, to be part of our studio, and to embrace everything this learning process brings.

Pottery Making Is Unpredictable

We reserve the right to cancel a class if minimum enrollments are not met.  In this case, all class/workshop fees will be fully refunded. Our minimum number of students is 3.

Class minimums

Please be to class at least 5 minutes prior to your scheduled class.  We have aprons for purchase but you can also bring your own.

Arrival

It takes about 4-6 weeks from the day of your class for your pieces to dry, fire, glaze, fired, glazed, fired again, and packaged up for you.  We will send a text when your pottery is ready.  We will only hold your pieces for 30 days after you receive our text.
